Discussion
Mushroom Synergy is a source of mushroom polysaccharides with immune regulation and antioxidant properties. Used in herbal medicine to support healthy immune function. These mushroom species are combined with herbs to help increase energy and resistance to stress-induced immune suppression.
Guarantees
AOR™ guarantees that all ingredients have been declared on the label. Contains no wheat, gluten, nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, sulphites, mustard, dairy, eggs, fish, soy or shellfish.
AOR Advantage
In keeping with AOR’s highest quality and safety standards, our mushrooms undergo non-toxic hot-water extraction in order to release bioactive compounds and polysaccharides, increasing their potency. Higher potency extracts mean beneficial results with fewer capsules than other brands. In addition, other immune support products typically do not target the most common cause of immune suppression, which is stress.

Research Facts
In a 2017 animal study, the medicinal mushroom Hericium erinaceus (HE) was tested as a treatment option in cases of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Extracts of HE were given to rats with IBD for 2 weeks. In the animals treated with HE there were significant improvements including decreased tissue damage within the colon. Further, researchers found significant differences in the microbiome after treatment, and concluded that the polysaccharide component of HE may act as a prebiotic – feeding the beneficial gut bacteria.
In a review study of the mushroom Agaricus blazei Murill (ABM), researchers reported that an ABM extract when given in combination with other mushrooms Hericium erinaceus and Grifola frondosa, led to increased survival of mice that were suffering from bacterial sepsis. This same mixture of mushroom extracts also protected against allergic reactions, also in an animal model.
This same review also describes a human phase I study in which 15 healthy volunteers were given the same ABM mixture. Researchers found the ABM extract to have anti-inflammatory effects in the body by reducing the levels of proinflammatory signalling molecules. As a follow-up clinical pilot study, human patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis) were given the ABM extract for 12 days.
The result was a decrease in inflammatory markers.
In a double-blind, randomized controlled trial, the herb Tulsi was tested for its immune-modulating effects in 24 healthy volunteers. Subjects were randomized to receive 300mg of a Tulsi extract or placebo for 4 weeks. Treatment with Tulsi resulted in significantly increased levels of the immune system’s T-helper cells and NK-cells, leading researchers to conclude the positive immune-modulating effect of Tulsi.
