Lysine is an essential amino acid. This means that the human body cannot produce L-Lysine and this important amino acid must be obtained from dietary intake (1). The source of this amino acid includes animal meats, fish, dairy products, legumes and brewer’s yeast.
L-Lysine as an aid for your training
L-Lysine provides a lot of benefits for serious athletes. During highly-intensive workouts there is a great need for this an essential building block for all protein in the body. Lysine works with other essential amino acids to maintain growth, lean body mass, and the body’s store of nitrogen (Athletes need to be in nitrogen balance to maintain muscle mass and need to be in positive nitrogen balance to increase muscle mass) (2). As it is widely known, protein is the must for getting your muscles bigger. L-Lysine plays a major role in calcium absorption influencing bone health greatly (3). L-Lysine is a necessary for recovery from surgery or sports injuries; and the body’s production of hormones, enzymes, and antibodies. Secretion of growth hormone, one of the most important hormone for muscle growth, is regulated by oral intake of L-Lysine, however there is need for further studies (*).
RECOMMENDED USE OR PURPOSE: Helps in collagen formation.
RECOMMENDED DOSE (ADULTS): Take one capsule 2-3 times daily.
