NOW’s Folic Acid provides a high potency 800 mcg with added synergistic Vitamin B12 to help with absorption and overall effectiveness.

Folate and folic acid are forms of the water-soluble B9 vitamin. Folate deficiency will occur if the body does not get the adequate amount of folic acid from dietary intake. Folic acid has been shown to be effective in the treatment of megaloblastic and macrocytic anemia due to folate deficiency. Folic acid supplementation has been shown repeatedly to reduce homocysteine levels in blood in individuals with normal levels or in those with hyperhomocysteinemia. Folic acid supplements are suggested for use in women of childbearing age in order to prevent neural tube defects.

Directions:

Adolecscents 14 years and Adults: Take 1 tablet daily with meals.
